ARTISTIC LONDON* Do you love music, theatre and fine arts? Perhaps you are an artist yourself? Or perhaps you have been to London already and are simply looking for something different? Well then this Artistic Tour of London is the one for you!

As for all my private tours, I will start by meeting you directly at your hotel or other accommodation in the morning, and we will make our way via public transport to Soho, the historic beating heart of musical London. Full of colourful shops and mysterious alleys, it is also one of London’s most vibrant areas.

Shoppers with welcome sign at the entrance to Carnaby Street

We will follow the steps of great names such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bowie, Ronnie Scott & Mozart, walk on the famous Carnaby Street, find a hidden recording studio, see where past legendary clubs used to stand and discover some of the current ones. Along the way I will show you some of the area’s other interesting oddities such as one of the hidden “Noses of Soho”, and where to get the best late-night coffee in London!

After all those emotions, we shall stop for a well-deserved lunch**, then walk through Leicester Square down to Trafalgar Square, and I will give you a short tour of the National Gallery. The National Gallery spans over 600 years of art history and has one of the greatest concentration of masterpieces in Europe. Depending on your interest, I will tailor-make a highlights tour of the Gallery, from medieval paintings to the Impressionists via Renaissance and Baroque masters.

Ornate arch and windows.

Finally, we will have a gentle stroll through Theatreland to Covent Garden. I will tell you tales of Theatre in London (and believe me, there are many!) And show you historic Playhouses, the Actors’ Church and the prestigious Royal Opera House itself.

Depending on the time, we can either finish the tour there in Covent Garden or, if you are still full of energy (I know I will be!), walk across Waterloo Bridge (said to offer the best views of London) and past the National Theatre to finish our day at the Globe Theatre, a beautiful thatched-roof reconstruction of Shakespeare’s 16th century Playhouse! Either end point offers plenty of dining options.

*This is a sample route, I will of course adapt the tour to your own personal needs and interests.

**The cost of lunch is not included in the tour but I can arrange to pre-book a table for the group at a convenient pub or restaurant.

Our customers say...
"I went on Jennifer’s Magic London walking tour and it was - well, Magic! Such an interesting and amusing guide with a fund of wonderful stories which Jennifer told in a fascinating and entertaining way. And if this wasn’t enough - Jennifer included practical magic as part of the walk. Her skill as a magician was amazing and the magic was woven into the tour. We learnt so much about Houdini and Victorian magicians such as Nevil Maskelyne , and even Paul Daniels - visiting the very sites where they performed. I’m still scratching my head trying to think how the magic tricks were carried out!!! This is a wonderful walk for both adults and children. Spellbinding! Martin"

"I want to submit a review of the Stonehenge, Bath, Windsor Castle based taken on June 28th. Jennifer El Gammal was an outstanding tour guide. She was personable, intelligent, knowledgeable and truly a pleasure to be with for this full day excursion. She was well organized and provided specific instructions about how to get back to the bus after each stop, which resulted in everyone getting back to the bus on time. The bus driver, Bob Smart was a good partner, driving safely and getting us from each site on time. This tour was one of the best I have ever been on because of the excellent information shared by Jennifer throughout the bus ride. She is truly amazing and engaging."
