A nice introduction to Royal London in the heart of Westminster, including the famous “Changing of the Guard” ceremony.**

As for every one of my private tours, I will be meeting you directly at your hotel or other accommodation in the morning. We will then make our way to central London and have a stroll through Westminster & Whitehall. I will tell you about royal palaces (past and present), we will get a view of the famous 10 Downing Street (our Prime Minister’s home!) and other landmarks such as Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and Westminster Abbey.

But the main focus of our morning walk will be to catch the world-famous Changing of the Guards ceremony. I will bring you to the best spots to see the Guard and take photos. We will follow troop movements and learn all about the ceremony, its purpose and its mechanics. This will take us through some of the most famous Royal Parks in central London, St James’s Park and Green Park.

We will also get great views of Buckingham Palace (where I will be more than happy to be your photographer if you want me to), and of other royal residences, such as Clarence House (where HRH Charles, Prince of Wales lives) and St James’s Palace.

*This is a sample route, I will of course adapt the tour to your own personal needs and interests.

**Please be aware that The Changing of the Guard is a military ceremony, subject to potential changes in date & time, and occasional cancellations (announced on the morning of the ceremony in case of very bad weather). Depending on the date, we will be seeing either the Foot Guards or the Horse Guards.
